Managing the media
1 day

Workshop outline

A media interview can get your message across to millions of people. This highly practical workshop helps you to develop the confidence and ability to seize positive media opportunities and the skills to defend your organisation's reputation when difficult issues arise.
Participants will learn how to:
  • Prepare for an interview
  • Identify aims and objectives
  • Understand your audience
  • Deal confidently with difficult questions

Pre-course
Each participant will be asked to identify in advance at least two work-related topics to form the basis of the interviews. Participants will also be asked to prepare a one-minute talk on a subject of their choice.

Learning method
This workshop is highly practical and participative and is run by an experienced broadcaster in radio and television and a two-man camera crew who have their own production company. The camera crew will set up a mini-studio with lights, which will allow instant playback to participants.
