This workshop is designed to enable delegates to:
Define what constitutes a violent or aggressive act
Recognise the manifestations of violence and aggression
Identify the appropriate responses to violence and aggression
Learn coping skills to diffuse a violent situation

Who should attend?
All housing staff at risk of violence, eg, caretakers, wardens, and reception staff.

The legal framework: health and safety legislation regarding violence, the definition of reasonable force and its implications
Guidelines for preventing violence at work
