Risk assessment training
1 day (half-day in class, half-day outside)
Workshop outline
The key to nearly all modern safety law is the ability of organisations to identify and control their risks in a systematic way. This workshop helps people to set about this task, and embraces not just law but best practice too.
Key learning points:
- Become familiar with the requirements of modern safety law
- Introduction to the techniques of risk assessment
- Introduction to the techniques of audit and planned inspection
Who should attend?
Anyone with responsibility for safety at work, or with exposure to risk from public access to their work, safety reps, people in development programmes and new managers.
Pre-course
Participants will be asked to identify their risk management processes and complete a short report.
Learning method
A participative workshop with opportunities to either carry out the techniques learned at the workplace or, if not, exercises based on workplace videos.

Avoiding and controlling
Existing safety management systems
Planned inspection and audit techniques
Involving work colleagues
Consultation with workers, safety reps etc.
